About Register

    Russian River Register is the federal autonomous institution for the classification of vessels. It is subordinated to the Ministry of Transport.
      Russian River Register consists of the Head Office and 14 Branch Offices located in accordance with the inland basins of Russian Federation. For more effective and qualitative solutions of the tasks assigned to RRR 75 survey stations were formed in the Branches at the sites of construction and repair of the vessels and manufacturing of the materials and products intended for installation onboard the vessels classed by Russian River Register. The Register acts on the basis of the Charter approved of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation of November 14, 2011 № IL-126-p.     
Self-propelled inland navigation vessels with the output of main engines of not less than 55 kW, non-self-propelled vessels with the tonnage not less than 80 tons, all passenger vessels and tankers, river-sea navigation vessels, ferries and pontoons (bridges) on inland waterways are subject to Russian River Register classification. 22,5 thousand vessels are classed and registered by Russian River Register. The Russian River Register Rules and Regulations corresponding to the international safety level form its normative base. The bodies of the technical supervision and classification of CIS and Baltic countries use the Russian River Register Rules and Regulations. Quality management system of Russian River Register is certified for the compliance with the requirements of GOST R ISO 9001-2001 (ISO 9001-2000).
    Russian River Register is a member of the International Association of technical survey and classification institutions. The RRR Representatives take part in the work of Committee on Inland Water Transport of the European Economic Commission of the United Nations Organization (UNO), the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the Danube Commission (DC) concerning harmonization and unification of the requirements in the field of navigation. Russian River Register cooperates with 19 foreign classification societies and organizations on bilateral basis on the issues of safety at sea and inland waterways.
